We have received quite a few requests from you for Joomla templates. In response to those requests we have released our first 2 Joomla templates, a security company template and a construction company template. We also released a Flash XML template for a restaurants.

Joomla is a popular content management system. These templates are edited online using the administration panel. We have posted a tutorial for installing Joomla.

Joomla Template Installation

Joomla Template Installation

We have released our new line of Joomla templates. These templates are managed using the Joomla web interface. Below are the installation instructions to get you started.

Joomla requires that you have a hosting account with MySQL, PHP, and Apache. We suggest that you use a Linux web server. In preparation for this install you should create a MySQL database and a user that has full access to the database. You will need to keep the user, database, and password you created for the installation

1) Download the Joomla package from http://www.joomla.org/download.html

2) Unzip the Joomla download and upload it to your hosting account

3) Open a browser and navigate to your domain

4) Choose your language and click next

5) This screen verifies that all settings on your hosting server are ready for the installation. After making sure you server is ready click next

6) Agree to the license information and click next

7) You will enter your data base information on this screen. After you have entered this information click next

8) Enter the FTP information for your hosting account

9) Enter your site information in this area. For the login and password use:
administrator:admin
password:admin

10) Using your hosting control panel and phpmyadmin import the dumb.txt that was included with your downloaded file from us.

11) Upload the files from the security zip that was included with your downloaded files from us

12) Remove the folder on your hosting account “installation”

13) Log into your administration panel at http://yourdomain.com/administration with user:admin and password: admin . Choose “Site” and “user management” and immediately change your password to a more secure password

One of the biggest advantages to the internet is the ability to communicate and work with people from all over the world. This has been especially true when looking for someone to build a website. It’s now possible to hire a designer from anywhere in the world. The downside of this has always been it’s hard to tell if the person you are sending your money to is legitimate.

The answer to this might seem simple; find someone locally to build your site. Anyone that has tried to find a local designer knows that it’s not as easy as it sounds. While there are thousands of designers there are also thousands of different requirements and designers specialize in different requirements. Sometimes it will require a complex back-end or a shopping cart. It’s difficult to find the perfect designer for your site in your local area.

There are precautions you can take when evaluating any designer. Ask the potential designer for examples of his/her work. All designers should have a portfolio of websites they have designed they have created. Make sure that the examples they are showing have the same functionality that you are looking for in your site.
